Question 1:  Am I Really a Leader?


Initially, Sally was not having enough self-awareness; mainly when she took-over her trip. She tracked her wish to travel to New York and to be an author, but later on she turn out to be uninterested. Therefore, once she saw a character that recalls her of the hope, she establishes self-awareness and proceeded to realize it. Having experienced the tour and its practices, Sally recognized her powers and faults and used them to her own benefit, to grow into an authentic leader.

The authenticity of Sally Helgesen’s leadership can be defined as internalized honest perception. Sally was able to recognize her strengths and weaknesses to direct her approach, and she never allowed external factors to have impact on her dream. Sally’s self-awareness and extraordinary education empowered her to become an author and to write books. Hence, Sally’s leadership can be described as an authentic.



Question 2:  How would you describe the authenticity of Sally Helgesen’s Leadership?

Describing Sally Helgesen’s as taking on the “mantle of leadership” was very important for her leadership style since it puts her in a battle or competition state.



Question 3:  At the end of the case, Selly Helgesen is described as taking on the “Mantle of Leadership”. Was this important for her leadership? How is taking on the mantle of leadership related to leader’s authenticity?


By taking on the mantle of leadership which was approximately challenging and problematic, Sally showed that she remained really authentic and focused only on her dream. She never pays attention to external attractions and she was committed to her promises; which resulted in more admiration and proved that she was concerned enough for achieving effectively her undertakings.
